FaxAgent is designed with the following goals in mind:

FaxAgent appliance supports the following interfaces:

FaxAgent systems can be configured to sends faxes directly over any IP enabled network.
This feature can drastically reduce costs by using the public internet as a secure
gateway or private transport.
Unlimited Users - Unlimited Users and Flexible Licensing
FaxAgent uses a server based pricing model to simplify licensing:
- Unlimited user accounts and system profiles
- Unlimited domains to help organize logical business groups

Document Rendering - Powerful Document Rendering and Conversion
Server based document rendering is critical. FaxAgent can convert standard documents
into fax ready format on the server without the need to install any 3rd party
application software.
FaxAgent can render the following document formats on the server:
- Image Files (TIFF, GIF, PNG, JPEG)
- Adobe Acrobat Files (PDF)
- Microsoft Office Files (DOC, XLS, PPT)
- Printer File Formats (PCL, EPS, PS)
- Internet Files (HTML, XML, XSL)
- Text Files (TXT, RTF)
FaxAgent includes a client-side print driver that can be used to render any printable
file from the user's desktop or installed application. The print driver is Citrix
compatible and can be used privately or over the internet.
Outlook Integration - Easy Integration with Microsoft Outlook Client
FaxAgent is designed to work seamlessly with Microsoft Outlook. Users will enjoy an
integrated solution providing access to:
- Fax directly from Microsoft Outlook client
- Check the real-time status of fax transmissions
- Receive inbound faxes directly in Microsoft Outlook clilent
- Receive fax status reports in Microsoft Outlook client
FaxAgent also includes a secure web client allowing users to interact with the fax server
over any private or public network. The web client does not require any
ActiveX or Java components.
Application Gateways - Ready to Use Application Gateways
FaxAgent includes a predefined set of application gateways. This allows system
administrators to fax enable virtually any networked device.
Supported gateways include:
- Multi-function printers and copiers
- Desktop or workgroup digital senders
- Mainframe servers and print controllers
- Unix application servers and print gateways
FaxAgent includes support for custom file-based gateways needed to connect complex
systems like SAP, Documentum, and FileNET. System administrators can setup an
unlimited number of file-based gateways to integrate their entire business
environment.
FaxAgent provides a native Microsoft .NET SDK. Application programmers can submit
and monitor fax transmissions through the SDK to fax enable any application or process.
Fault Tolerant - Fault Tolerant Architecture
FaxAgent is designed to be fault-tolerant without the need for complex cluster
software. Administrators can define one or more application servers to
load-balance workloads and guarantee uptime.
FaxAgent servers can work with mainstream SANs, NAS storage servers, or
direct-attached disk solutions.
FaxAgent uses a built-in workflow queuing engine to handle even the most demanding
transaction based environments. Workflow queues provide guarantee uptime across
fault-tolerant nodes in the system.
Least Cost Routing - Dynamic Routing Designed to Reduce Costs
FaxAgent includes a Least Cost Routing engine to help reduce telephone cost.
FaxAgent servers can be configured to perform the following rule-based tasks:
- Route fax transmissions through internet accessible satellite servers
- Send fax transmissions through cost-effective distribution points
FaxAgent is centrally managed and provides a secure web interface to monitor
system settings, application gateways, and run reports.
Fax-Over-IP - Leverage the Power of Your VoIP Investment
FaxAgent is ready to use with your IP enabled PBX or voice gateway. FaxAgent
supports the latest technology options for T.38 Fax Relay and works with SIP
and H323 enabled devices.
FaxAgent host-based solutions can be deployed without the need for dedicated
fax hardware. FoIP support allows users to consolidate voice and fax traffic
in a common voice gateway or PBX.
FaxAgent is designed to interface with industry standard devices:
- Cisco Routers and Universal Gateways
- Adtran Total Access Voice Gateways
- SIP and H323 compatible endpoints
FaxAgent includes support for Brooktrout Intelligent Fax Boards. Users can
install existing or new TR1034, TR114 or TruFax cards into the system. The
FaxAgent appliance includes a custom designed PCI riser assembly to insert
and remove Brooktrout hardware. FaxAgent has an integrated configuration
manager to add and remove Brooktrout R140 host-based fax licenses.
